To book a picnic site, please complete our online booking form.
Once you submit your form, our events team will contact you to confirm your reservation as soon as possible. Once we have received your signed contract and confirmed your payment, you will be issued a park permit. You must have the permit with you on the day of your event.
Picnic Site Rental Terms
Please Note: The picnic shelter in the Nature Playground and the shelter at the Riley Family Duck Pond are available for the enjoyment of all visitors on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved for private use.
- Picnic sites are available “as is”.
- Picnic Sites are booked in 4 hour time slots.
- One to two picnic tables will be available at each picnic site.
- Alcohol is not permitted.
- No outside catering is allowed without approval from Assiniboine Park Conservancy.
- You are required to supply your own firewood.
- Picnic tables and fire pits are not sanitized in advance of your visit.
- Picnic site bookings are non-refundable.
- Picnic sites do not have water or power access.
- Weighted pop-up style tents 400sqft (20ft x 20ft) and under are allowed. No larger tents or staking into the ground is permitted.

Fire Pit Safety
The WFPS would like to remind residents of the regulations regarding outdoor fire receptacles such as fire pits and outdoor BBQs. Note that all open fires, including recreational fires within approved outdoor receptacles on public or private property, are not permitted when wind speed exceeds 25 km/h. When using fire pits within Assiniboine Park, never leave a fire unattended and always ensure your fire is fully extinguished before leaving your site. Thank you.
