Assiniboine Park is filled with beautiful art, from the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden and Pavilion Art Galleries to the colourful murals in the Nature Playground and Gardens at The Leaf. The art adds to the already naturally beautiful environment that surrounds us. During our revitalization refresh of the Nature Playground, we added one more beautiful piece to our collection.

DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI has recently found its new home in the Streuber Family Children’s Garden area of the Nature Playground. Created by nationally and internationally acclaimed Canadian artist Joe Fafard (1942-2019), the sculpture combines scenes, objects, and fragments to form the shape of seven running horses. Fafard was one of Canada’s leading visual artists, with his work displayed in the United States, Great Britain, France, and Japan.

This beautiful new addition to the Park was made possible by a generous donation from philanthropist Michael Nesbitt.

"Mr. Nesbitt has been a long-time supporter and friend of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. This recent gift is an example of his dedicated commitment to arts and culture in our community, and we are truly grateful for his generosity," said Ray Karasevich, President & CEO of the Assiniboine Park Conservancy.
